BriteBase
BriteBase is a financial crime technology company building intelligent screening software for banks, fintechs, money services businesses, and other regulated financial firms.   Globally, these businesses are legally required to screen their customers and transactions against sanctions lists, records of politically exposed persons, beneficial ownership data, and other financial crime risk information. The obligation is strict, and regulatory penalties for falling short have grown substantially more severe.   The difficulty is that today's screening technology is highly inefficient. It typically raises an alert whenever two names merely resemble each other, and roughly 95% of alerts prove to be false positives. Each one still requires a trained compliance professional to spend twenty to thirty minutes researching the case and documenting the conclusion. As a financial business grows, its alert volume tends to grow proportionally, forcing the business to add compliance headcount simply to keep pace.   BriteBase is designed to break that relationship. Our screening technology evaluates the full context surrounding a potential match, using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and enriched data to distinguish genuine risk from coincidental similarity before an alert is raised. For the alerts that remain, BriteBase gathers the relevant evidence, organizes it, and prepares the case for human decision-making.   The result: 80% reduction in false positives allows for fewer unnecessary investigations, materially lower compliance costs, and the ability for regulated businesses to grow without growing compliance headcount at the same rate.
