We are building a robot that installs shingles on new residential roofs. Roofing is tough, dangerous work, and fewer people are entering the trade. At the same time, more homes are being built each year, creating a growing gap between the demand for roofers and the number of people available to do the work. Our robot helps fill this gap by automating one of the most repetitive and physically demanding tasks in roofing—laying shingles. It’s designed to work on new homes, where roof shapes are consistent and easier to automate. By speeding up installation and reducing physical strain, it can help make roofing safer, faster, and more affordable. Right now, we’re developing a full-size prototype and working with home builders to test and improve the design. Our goal is to support skilled workers with better tools, not replace them, and help the construction industry keep up with growing demand.
