Firebird is an AI-driven, province-wide wildfire ignition forecasting platform that fuses over eight million spatial–temporal data points—from weather and topography to lightning strikes, human activity and historical burns—into daily heatmaps of ignition probability. With an 85% baseline accuracy across Alberta and a goal of 90% by peak season 2025, Firebird’s novel deep-learning algorithms outperform traditional statistical methods by seamlessly integrating satellite imagery with ground sensors. Built in partnership with Alberta’s Protected A datasets and soon expanding into B.C., Firebird not only accelerates early response—when 80–95% of fires are containable under 10 ha—but also drives down suppression costs and carbon emissions (wildfires account for roughly 6% of global CO₂). Delivered via a flexible API/SaaS model, it serves government agencies, utilities and forestry operators, while opening new opportunities in real-estate risk analysis and drone-based detection. With methodologies and model outputs poised for patent protection post-MVP, Firebird is setting the standard for proactive, data-driven wildfire management.
