Most companies that buy materials, parts, or supplies from other businesses spend an enormous amount of time doing it manually. A procurement manager might spend their entire day writing emails to suppliers, filling out spreadsheets, comparing prices, and chasing approvals — work that is repetitive, slow, and prone to human error. For many mid-size manufacturers and distributors, this process can take weeks when it should take hours. 10xProcure builds an AI agent that handles this entire process automatically. When a company needs to buy something, our system reads the request, finds the right suppliers, sends out requests for quotes, reads the responses, compares the options, and prepares the purchase order — all without the procurement team having to do it manually. The team stays in control and approves the final decisions, but the hours of back-and-forth work happen automatically in the background. The result is that procurement teams spend less time on paperwork and more time on decisions that actually require human judgment. Companies move faster, catch better prices, and reduce the costly mistakes that happen when people are overwhelmed with repetitive tasks. 10xProcure was founded at the University of Waterloo by a CS major student who watched this problem firsthand and also knew that modern technology had finally reached the point where, when programmed and engineered correctly, it could genuinely solve it.
