The Co-op Workplace Simulation

Join Velocity for an engaging simulation where your mission isn’t to fix a problem—it’s to understand it. Show your employer how you can go from Excellent to Outstanding and gain the skills you need to win part of the $7,250 available through the Velocity Co-op Problem Awards.

Co-op Problem Award

$7,250 in Tuition Scholarships are available through the Velocity Co-op Problem Award.

Apply your problem-finding skills during your co-op term and submit your analysis for the Velocity Co-op Problem Award, which are awarded at the annual Co-op Student of the Year Awards (next ceremony in 2026). A first prize of $1,500, second prize of $750 and up to 10 x $500 scholarships are available for the best problem analysis relevant to the co-op employer or their industry. Prize money will be applied to the tuition of the winning students.

How to enter:

  • Attend the Co-op Workplace Simulation event.
  • Apply your knowledge during your co-op.
  • Submit your workplace analysis.

Award details:

  • Provided by Velocity in collaboration with Co-operative and Experiential Education.
  • Criteria: Best analysis of a significant problem relevant to a co-op employer or their industry.
  • Winners are selected by Velocity.

Deadline: Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Check the website for exact dates.

Eligibility

Co-op students with an interest in conducting analysis of a problem that is of strategic or systemic importance to one of their co-op employers

Level:

Year One, Year Two, Year Three, Year Four

Program

Open to any program. The deadline will normally be about six weeks from the beginning of each semester – see the website for the actual deadline.
